The Ultimate Manu Jungle Trip for Birders & Photographers

A Manu Jungle Trip with Wildlife Nature Peru is the dream destination for birdwatchers and nature photographers worldwide. Manu National Park is home to more than 1,000 bird species — a higher concentration than in all of Europe — across three distinct habitats: high Andean cloud forest, transition cloud forest, and lowland Amazon rainforest. Our specialist Manu Jungle Trip packages are designed to maximize your species count and photographic opportunities with expert ornithologist guides who know every trail, hide, and dawn chorus location.

Complement your avian adventure with encounters with jaguars, giant river otters, spectacled bears, woolly monkeys and hundreds of reptile and amphibian species. For those also interested in the broader Manu experience, explore our Manu Jungle Tours or deep reserve Manu National Park Tours.

Why Manu is the World's #1 Birding Destination

🦅

1,000+ Recorded Bird Species

More bird species than any comparably sized area on Earth. From harpy eagles to tiny pygmy-owls, from cock-of-the-rock to antpittas — Manu has them all.

🏔️

Multiple Habitat Zones

A single Manu Jungle Trip crosses cloud forest (2,800m), transition forest (1,500m) and lowland Amazon (400m) — tripling your species opportunities compared to most Amazonian destinations.

📸

Exceptional Photography Conditions

The clay lick at Blanquillo offers unobstructed views of hundreds of macaws and parrots. Forest blinds near feeding trees allow intimate shots of rare species at close range.

🔭

Expert Ornithologist Guides

Our specialist birding guides have decades of experience in Manu, know bird songs by ear and can identify species at great distance. They maximize your list every day.

🌙

Day & Night Exploration

Nocturnal walks reveal nightjars, potoos, screech-owls and spectacled owls invisible during daytime. Boat spotlighting for caiman and night herons after dark.

🚣

River & Oxbow Lake Access

Silent canoe paddling on the oxbow lakes opens up waterbirds, kingfishers, sungrebes and giant otter families. River journeys yield skimmers, sandpipers and river terns.
